How to Track Somelocation by Their Cell Phone

There are several reasons why you might want to track a cell phone. You may want to keep track of your kids for their safety and your sanity. You may want to track your phone if it gets stolen. Or you may have some off the wall reason for tracking someone using his or her phone. Whatever your reason, there are several options now available for tracking a cell phone. There are programs available that allow you to keep track of a person's location by his or her cell phone without them even know it.

     1      First you will need to have access to the cell phone you are wanting to track. In order to track a cell phone's location you must first decided on a program that will work best for you. There are free software programs online, but for this to work you need to load software to the phone or install a physical GPS chip.
     2      Install a GPS tracker to the phone. GPS chips come so small that they can be undetected. The GPS chip can be inserted on the back of the phone without anyone even noticing. The chip is powered by the cell phone and sends out a signal that is closely monitored by you through a program on your PC.
     3      Load tracking software to your personal computer. To be able to track the phone, you need the software also programed into your laptop or PC. Most tracking programs use either Google Maps or Mapquest to make it easier for you to track and view the phone's location by map.
     4      Activate the tracking system. Any software that you use has to be activated after it is installed. If it is possible keep the phone until you have activated the program, when you activate most tracking programs will send a text message to the phone saying that the program has been activated and is ready for use.

   • • If you know the IP address of the cell phone you can also track the phones location that way, and usually do not require any software.
     • Tracking software in not 100% accurate they can be off by a few feet to a few miles.
     • There are several options to track a cell phone including Wherify and uLocate that allow users to download software from the Internet in order to a stolen phone or the location of your children.
